CMC courses are highly personal and many are highly experiential by design, each with a maximum registration of 25 students.

Colorado Mountain College campuses are located in Aspen, Carbondale, Breckenridge, Dillon, Steamboat Springs, Glenwood Springs, Glenwood Springs-Spring Valley, Leadville, Rifle, the Vail Valley, and Salida. Of these locations, three are residential—Spring Valley, Leadville, and Steamboat Springs — and students in Breckenridge have access to college-owned off-campus housing. CMC campuses are close-knit communities, on average serving between 1,000 – 2,000 students.

The majority of the college’s financial support comes from local property taxes, not tuition or state revenues.  Consequently, CMC is uniquely positioned to be entrepreneurial, nimble, mission-focused, and responsive to community and workforce needs. The college’s Central Services administrative office, which provides administrative support to all campus locations, is located in historic downtown Glenwood Springs, the town from which CMC originally launched in 1965.

The position

Under the supervision of the Child Care Lead Coordinator, the Child Care Assistant is responsible for the care of pre-school and elementary school-aged children of Colorado Mountain College students. Childcare services are provided during scheduled hours for students while on campus for classes or other required activities.

The Childcare Assistant assists with compliance with codes of all State and local governing contracting agencies and CMC policies. The Childcare Assistant works collegially with other staff, parents, and faculty members of CMC. The Childcare Assistant is responsible for reporting to the Childcare Lead and maintaining open communication about scheduling, reporting, and duties.

CMC work week is Saturday through Friday.

The position

The Administrative Technician works in support of the business or College operations at a commuter campus or work units. These positions are typically found at commuter campus but may appear within work units at residential campuses or central services. The primary role is in support of academic or student services functions. Duties are performed at a fully operational level but with more complexity, using either established standard guidelines and/or procedural methods, or improvising solutions and alternatives.

This is a part-time position with a maximum of 28 hours per week.  This position is Monday through Friday with flexible evening and daytime hours. The CMC work week is Saturday through Friday.

The position

The primary responsibility for this position is to connect older adults with volunteer opportunities in. This individual will recruit and place volunteers in participating nonprofit agencies and RSVP sponsored programs. Duties include volunteer and program management, database maintenance, public speaking, and coordination of services with community partners. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for direct supervision and administration of RSVP’s Medicare/State Health Insurance Assistance Program including providing administrative support and volunteer management.

This is a part-time position which is limited to 28 hours per CMC’s workweek. CMC’s workweek is Saturday through Friday.

This position requires a high level of technical, interpersonal, business, and administrative skills.

Volunteer Management: Recruit, match, and place volunteers with local nonprofit organizations. Make presentations at community groups promoting volunteer opportunities. Process new volunteer enrollment forms and conduct new volunteer interviews. Maintain communication with volunteers checking in with them regularly. Maintain volunteer database, records, timesheets and surveys.

The position

The full time term faculty positions begin in August 2022 with a 30 credit hour (170 day contract per Board Policy 4.12) teaching load annually.

The successful candidate will teach a variety of Human Services courses. A significant portion of this position will be teaching courses in mental health/counseling/behavioral health and if qualified, addiction studies. This position will serve the regional campus locations as well as some virtual courses.

The candidate will report to the Dean and work directly with the Program Director, program faculty, and faculty from other disciplines to develop and sustain a top-quality human services program. Additionally, the candidate will work with the Assistant Dean of Instruction for course supports to best meet student needs.

Of special interest for this position is a candidate with experience and knowledge in the mental health, counseling, addictions, and/or social work fields in rural communities.

Teaching responsibilities expected of all faculty include: teach course load as assigned, evaluate courses and assess student learning, meet established course, program and learning outcomes, comply with guidelines and policies, maintain office hours per established standards, develop rapport with students, assist with and participate in advising, orientation and registration activities, and building and maintaining community partnerships for student application of skills. The candidate for this position will teach in multiple modalities including in-person face to face, hybrid, and Livestream/distance.

CMC Faculty are expected to engage in activities of service to students, discipline, as well as college and the community. Activities include but are not limited to: serving on campus and college committees; participating in relevant projects; mentoring peers; performing assessment activities including but not limited to self, peers, students and  program review; engaging in student organization, recruiting and retention activities;  and developing community partnerships that facilitate experiential learning opportunities for students.

This is a new position for a new Bachelor of Arts in Human Services. Critical to this position are collaborative, innovative skills in working with supervisors, peers, students and community members.

Term faculty positions are full time, temporary positions. Term faculty members deliver a full load of courses, hold routine office hours, advise students, provide other duties associated with instruction, and participate in limited service activities. Term positions may be renewed annually, for up to three years.

Requirements:

Qualified candidates must be credentialed to teach in this program, or eligible to be credentialed. Examples of ideal qualifications include:

A minimum of a Master’s degree in Human Services, Counseling, Behavioral Studies, or Addictions, or closely related field, or Master’s degree and a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Human Services. Counseling, Behavioral Studies, or Addictions, or closely related field. Minimum of one-year full-time teaching experience at the college level, or the equivalent as an adjunct instructor. PhD or EdD preferred. Documented 3 years’ experience working in related direct service field(s) preferred.
